FS2 Nursery in Dubai
Nursery for FS2? What is it?
In this article, we are focusing on the subjects of “what is FS2? “, “What are its benefits?” and ” Is FS2 compulsory in Dubai?”
Deciding what is best for your child at the end of FS1 can be difficult for parents. Should you keep them on at their current nursery or should you put them into FS2 at a new school?
Here at The Little Dreamers, we believe that it’s in the children’s best interest to stay on with our nursery for FS2. We will discuss the benefits of staying on at the nursery for Fs2 below:
What are the benefits of FS2 in nursery vs School?
1-Security, confidence and comfort
At our nursery in Dubai, we have always strived to create a home away from home environment. We have created this by making interesting and inviting classrooms, with fantastic resources and caring teachers/teaching assistants. Also, we have a familiar daily routine which the children become used to quickly and easily. At a main school, you will struggle to find a home-like environment like our nursery. All of these things help to make children feel secure and happy when attending our British nursery in Dubai.
2-Easier transition to school
Attending our nursery will help your child prepare for school, as they will adjust to being in a classroom environment and following a daily routine, just like they will when they move up to big school. Children will also further develop their social skills and other child development skills when staying on for FS2. This will then make the eventual transition to school much easier as they will have become more self-secure and have much more confidence within themselves.
3-Flexible timings
Unlike schools, we can be much more flexible when it comes to timings that work best for our parents for their children to attend the nursery. We understand that in this modern world most parents have various work or personal commitments and will therefore need more flexibility with their childcare arrangements. In addition to this, we are also open all year round, only closing for UAE public holidays. Therefore, we are able to be very accommodating for our parents.
4-Beneficial for holistic development
Nurseries focus on children’s holistic development, not just some specific areas. Here at The Little Dreamers, we follow the EYFS 2020 curriculum. This is a curriculum that originates from the U.K which focuses on 7 areas of development. Here at our nursery, we also have a French and Arabic teacher along with other extra-curricular activities such as ballet, football and eiMaths.

5-Effective communication
Nurseries are fantastic for helping children to develop good communication and language skills. Being surrounded by teachers, teaching assistants and peers gives them so many opportunities for communication on a daily basis. Attending our nursery helps the children to become used to listening and responding to teachers questions, just like they will be doing at big school. Morning circle time in particular really helps children to become used to this type of communication and interaction.
6-Positive exposure
Here at our nursery, we follow The Curiosity Approach. This is an approach which aims to create ‘thinkers & doers’ by putting children at the centre of their own development and education. At The Little Dreamers Nursery, we encourage our children to participate in child-led exploration, structure and playful learning. We set out various open-ended resources daily to pique the children’s interests and to further develop their skills. Staying on at our nursery for FS2 means that your child will be exposed to lots of fantastic learning opportunities.
