Do I need to teach my child to use the toilet?

The development of every child is different. All children do not need to be toilet trained. We will work with you to support the needs of your child at whatever stage your child is.

When my child is unwell, can they come to school?

If your child is ill, you should keep them at home. Children and staff should not be exposed to colds or viruses. You cannot send your child to nursery if he or she needs Calpol. If your child is prescribed medicine by their doctor, such as antibiotics, but is healthy enough to attend school, we can administer their medication for them.

Is a uniform required for my child?

It is not necessary for your child to wear a uniform. If you would like to purchase nursery T-shirts and sweatshirts, we do have them. You can order them from our reception.

What items of clothing should my child wear to the nursery?

It is important that your child wears comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting slightly messy and is easy to manage when using the toilet independently. Please make sure your child has shoes that they can take off and put on themselves, e.g., with no laces, and that they have appropriate clothing to go outdoors in any weather.

Is my child allowed to sleep at nursery?

Yes, the children’s sleeping needs are met individually. Our staff will ensure that your child is comfortable if they are tired.

Do you prepare the children for school?

The best way to prepare children for school is to foster their independence and resilience. Communication and social skills are of utmost importance to us. Children benefit from an enabling environment that promotes learning across all subjects.

What is the Curiosity Approach?

The Curiosity Approach is a modern-day approach to early childhood. The approach aims to encourage children to be ‘thinkers & doers’ by putting them at the centre of their own development and education. We promote the Curiosity Approach in all of our classrooms.
